In May 2024, Drupal Project lead Dries Buytaert announced Starshot, an exciting new initiative. Starshot aims to build an innovative open source product on Drupal core that enables site builders, even those without prior Drupal experience, to easily create and extend Drupal sites using pre-packaged recipes—all from within their browser.

This session will introduce Drupal Starshot, exploring its impact on the Drupal project, developers, and the wider community. You will learn the steps necessary to achieve Starshot’s ambitious objectives and discover how you can get involved in this revitalised wave of Drupal contributions.

Cristina Chumillas is a senior front-end developer and designer, also known as a UX Engineer, at Lullabot. As the UX Lead on the new Drupal Starshot project, she is dedicated to creating an exceptional user experience right out of the box. With over 13 years of experience in Drupal, Cristina is a Drupal core committer and front-end framework manager, Drupal core Usability maintainer, and co-maintainer of the core admin theme Claro and the new core Navigation. She also actively organises Drupal and other tech-related events in her local community in Barcelona.
