This meeting is your opportunity to learn about online tracking, the EDPS Website Evidence Collector Online service

This training is relevant for website administrators, business managers, project managers, developers, data protection officers/correspondents and any person concerned about websites’ privacy.

Here's what you can expect from this session:

  • In 2019, the EDPS developed and published under an open-source license its Website Evidence Collector tool. This tool allows its users to collect evidence about websites’ components, use of encryption and use cookies and similar technologies.
  • In July 2024, the EDPS deployed the Website Evidence Collector (WEC) Online service. This service is based on the Website Evidence Collector tool, has a web interface and is accessible from the corporate network.
  • We will start with an introduction to how the world wide web and online tracking work, to ensure all audience has a baseline knowledge on these two topics. Then, we will explain how WEC Online works and how to use the service, providing examples to illustrate the service capacities and limitations.
